Default 'Supergirl' Facing Major Budget Cuts for Season 2, Possible CW

http://comicsalliance.com/supergirl-...wal-budget-cw/

Quote:
Given though it seemed such a lucrative property like CBS’ Supergirl would soar into a second season, delayed confirmation has given fans cause for concern. And with good reason, it seems, as reports suggest CBS could drastically slash the budget for Season 2, even considering a move to The CW. Continue reading…

Two things: The Flash's Tom Cavanagh already spilled the beans about Supergirl's move to Vancouver, when he told Hollywood Today on April 26 that the show was moving up there "next week." It's there already.

Second, California has already said it wouldn't grant Supergirl a tax break for filming in L.A. next season. That was a deal-breaker, right there.

So, really, all that's left is whether the show will continue and, if it does, on which network. Les Moonves (who runs both CBS and The CW) wants the hour on CBS back so he can put on something that'll draw more eyeballs, and he wants to bolster The CW's superhero franchise. I don't think there's any doubt that Supergirl will get a second season, and it's most likely going to be on The CW.

Default Supergirl Season 2 Move to The CW Now a Stronger Possibility

http://screenrant.com/supergirl-season-2-cbs-cw/

Quote:
CBS joined fellow TV networks FOX and The CW in airing its own DC Comics-based TV show in 2015 with Supergirl. However, the future of the series, starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers a.k.a. Kara Zor-El (Superman’s cousin), is currently up in the air following the airing of its season 1 finale. Although CBS CEO Les Moonves previously appeared to suggest that Supergirl season 2 is all but a done deal, the show has yet to be formally renewed, even now that the deadline for such a renewal is staring CBS right in the face. There have been rumors that Supergirl could make the move to The CW - the place that Supergirl co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg’s other DC superhero TV shows (Arrow,

Default 4 Big Changes To Expect From Supergirl's Move To The CW

http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...137857-p4.html

Quote:
Shortly before Supergirl Season 1 ended, the show paired Kara and Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, a.k.a. Flash, in “Worlds Finest,” with Barry accidentally arriving in the Supergirl world and helping her fight Silver Banshee and Livewire while trying to find a way back to his world. Had Supergirl remained on CBS, the show likely would have tried to include more crossovers, but it still would have been difficult given the different networks and shooting locations. Now that the series is airing on The CW and shooting in Vancouver, these will be significantly easier to accomplish. With the Supergirl cast and crew in the same area as the Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow folks, it’s practically

I recently read on Reddit that if The CW gets sold, it in their humble opinion, will likely mean that the DC shows will get canned ASAP. Not necessarily because the new owner would want them gone, but because being co-owned by Warner Bros./WarnerMedia means that The CW pays a discounted licensing fee for the DC Comics characters. That's why it cost so much more for CBS to produce Supergirl in its first season than it did for CW to do it, despite CW being co-owned by CBS' parent company. The new owner just probably wouldn't have the money to do that.
