The only explanation I can think of for this nonsense is the already mentioned theory that this is supposed to be some kind of unofficial series finale. But even by that metric it fails. Killing off Abbie was a terrible mistake. Her and Crane were the supernatural killing duo of the series. To lose her is to lose viewers, what were they thinking?
