Parks and Recreation was to me the modern answer to The Andy Griffith Show. Pretty much a similar set up, a small town with goofy people and the humor of it all. Of course, Andy was Ron Swanson, and there was already a character named Andy. But the show was similar in many respects to me.
Like the Andy Griffith Show, I will watch this show 20 to 30 years from now and get the same enjoyment out of it. This is one of one of my top 10 favorite sitcoms for all time, and I used to do my bit this time of the year to lobby for the show to get renewed for one more season since the show was always iffy for renewal since the beginning. If the show was on CBS or FOX it would have died, God bless NBC, which is a reason why NBC is my favorite network of the Big Four. |
