Creator Jill Soloway says the I Am Cait star will be part of Season 3 of the Amazon series. But she wouldn’t reveal any further details, other than that Jenner will begin filming her scenes this week. Soloway adds that it was easy to get Jenner on board, calling her appearance “a dream come true."

Caitlyn Jenner’s character in Amazon’s "Transparent" isn’t really a character at all!

The Olympian, reality star, advocate and, now, actress will play herself in the award-winning drama about a father who comes out as a transgender woman, according to one of the show’s stars.

“She’s herself,” Judith Light, who plays Shelly Pfefferman, tells Entertainment Tonight of Jenner’s season 3 role, which has already concluded filming.

“It’s perfect. What could be more perfect? I’m not in that scene and I wasn’t there the day that she filmed, but what could be more perfect than having her as part of the show?”

And the cast couldn’t be buzzing more about this perfect fit.

“It was fun to have her on set,” costar Jay Duplass, who plays Josh Pfefferman, told ET of Jenner. “People are nervous about how she shows up on Transparent. All I can say is that once they see it, they’ll be really pleased because it makes a lot of sense the way that it happens.”

Since "Transparent" announced Caitlyn Jenner would be playing a part in the Amazon show’s next season, details about the celebrity’s role have been slowly but surely trickling in. We already know that the reality TV icon will be playing herself, but series creator Jill Solloway dished on the circumstances in a new interview with Variety.

“She plays the Pfefferman’s cousin,” Solloway initially joked before bursting into laughter. “That’s not true at all.”

So what’s the truth?

“She’s in a dream sequence. Ali has a kind of wild, nitrous-inspired, goddess-worshiping dream sequence,” she said. “And you can’t talk about the goddess without Ntozake Shange and Caitlyn Jenner, who are both in the dream.”

Speaking to Jenner’s presence in the scene, Hoffman added, “She was great. She was a total natural. She was funny. She was great at improvising.”
