Default 10 Revived TV Shows That Should Have Stayed Dead

Quote:
We all have a few TV shows that we loved, and wind up missing when they end. Some of them were cancelled too soon and some of them stretched on way too long, but regardless we form an emotional attachment to the characters and the world. Sometimes the TV gods hear our prayers and grant us a revival years later, but this can lead to an extreme case of “Careful what you wish for.”

The last few years have seen a boatload of old shows being rebooted, with everything from Twin Peaks to Ful House being hosed down for a new generation; even ReBoot is getting a reboot. The X-Files recently came back after a long hiatus and – dodgy opening episode aside – fans seem to be pleased with the results. That not always the case, though, because there have been plenty of examples of dead shows that really should have stayed down.

Goodwill and nostalgia will only take them so far, and if the revived series doesn’t carry its weight it could end up tarnishing the memory of the show. Collected here are some shows that slapped on a new coat of paint, only for it to quickly peel away and expose the rustiness beneath.

I have to admit I was a fan of the Dallas reboot. I was addicted but after J.R. Ewing/Larry Hagman died it kind of lost the thunder. It just wasn't the same.

I don't think most of the original fans of Dallas liked the new show. The Tribute to Larry was pretty well done though.

It was iffy from the fans I talk to. I was raised on Dallas every Friday night. When it came back I was leery but I was ok with it.

I liked the DALLAS reboot and wished it had gone on longer, until Larry Hagman died . It just wasn't the same without "the man everyone loved to hate".

The most common criticism that I heard about the new Dallas is that it felt more like a telenovela that didn't focus enough on the Ewing family (and more on characters who weren't apart of the original series such as Jordanna Brewster's character).

The Bionic Woman, that show was horrible! A truly awful reboot.

I agree, it was awful. I never made it past the first 1/2 hour of the first episode.
