Charlie Sheen eventually contracted HIV - Charlie Harper never contracted that dredful disease and in fact, was HILARIOUS right up until he was written out out of the show. You have made a classic mistake known as "fictional crossover" - which is when a fan associates an event in an actors PERSONAL LIFE with a character he played on a television show. When you watch Two and a half men, you are watching Sheen portray Harper's hilarious life which at no point included a HIV diagnosis. So the show is every bit as funny as it's ever been.
