Back when there only 3 networks (and no cable) a show had to be really good to get on the air. Now a days with so many channels a show doesn't have to be nearly so good to get on the air. Another words there's a direct correlation between the quantity of TV available and the lack of quality TV to watch!

I don't disagree that there's too much TV to choose from. It's very overwhelming.

However, there are plenty of addicting and brilliant shows on TV. You just need to find them. There really is something for everyone. For me personally, shows like Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Mad Men, Damages, Parks and Recreation, The Middle, and The Goldbergs are among my all-time favorites and they're all from the last couple years.

I personally think most of the shows today are trash. We honestly try each new show with the exception of Reality, we don't even bother with that junk. We basically depend on a few classic shows we can get and watching DVD's.
I miss sitcoms the most but I won't settle for what is on TV these days since it's just not our taste.
