A study from research firm SymphonyAM found that adults ages 18 to 34 prefer to time-shift, and they like to watch their delayed viewing on Hulu. |

I'm 29 and recently cancelled cable altogether. I watch all of my shows through YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and HBOGo.

I think I watch even less than 30% of live TV. And I'm a Millennial!

I really hate being roped in to that MILLENIAL term. The word makes my skin crawl.
I'd rather be a baby boomer or a gen x'er but got stuck with this group. And it's sad but I spend to much time watching live tv on Me tv, Antenna tv and now Comit tv.

I am an American living in China, "Yong Fang" is my wife's name. Although I live in China, I can watch most any televion show and just about all shows which are new. There are websites out there that that copy the show and show it the next day. So if a show comes on Wednesday, I see it on Thursday. Might not be right or legal, but I get to watch my show. Why the producers of these shows do not scream bloody murder about it is beyond me.
This is nice now, because people do not have to be at home at a particualr time with a television to watch a show. Watch it when you want. This is wonderful. When I was in the United States for a visit, I was bombarded with inane commercials, so it is nice to watch shows without them. If I lived in the USA, I would do like China, I would not have a television or cable at all, if you want to watch television, here is my Ipad. This is absolutely wonderful because if I have WIFI, I can watch TV anywhere. The airport, an office waiting, anywhere. Fantastic. The cable companies have ran monopolies, have high fees, to much bull***** from them, so it is fine that these companies have their backs to the wall, and we do not need them anymore. It is interesting, and I dunno about ratings, usually ratings are calculated by who watched the regular broadcast. Well, I do not have to, I can watch it anytime. Frankly, I do not understand why the networks and sports like NFL, NBA and MLB just do not sream games and shows with commercials. I as someone outside of America cannot access HULU, it is blocked from their end with a message "content cannot be streamed outside the United States". But I get to watch content. This is also a Golden Age of television. |

Anyone believing that the 2010s is a "Golden Age of Television" must want a "Golden Age of Crap". Also, it is quite difficult not to get yourself attached to the "crap" TV programs of the 2010s (scripted or otherwise), yet the only real "crap" is the boring reality shows that air on Viacom's channels, like MTV and VH1.
