I feel kind of bad in thinking that given Charlie Sheen's history w/ drugs and womanizing (including prostitutes) that something like this really can't be that surprising!

Charlie Sheen will reveal to the world that he's HIV positive.
Sources connected to NBC's "Today" tell TMZ ... Sheen will sit down with Matt Lauer on Tuesday morning to make the announcement.
NBC touted the interview in a press release as Sheen making a "revealing personal announcement."
A tabloid report came out Monday claiming Sheen's been keeping the diagnosis secret for years. You've gotta imagine he'll address that report tomorrow morning on "Today."

Default Report: Charlie Sheen is disclosing his HIV status on Today because of lawsuit threat

http://www.tmz.com/2015/11/16/charli...ts-settlement/

According to TMZ, Sheen has known he’s been HIV positive for more than a year. Meanwhile, Hollywood PR crisis manager Howard Bragman tells People he was approached six months ago to work with Sheen, but never had contact with him directly. Says Bragman: "The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners. You don't take that lightly." UPDATE: TMZ now says Sheen will say HIV is "undetectable" in his system after two years of treatment.

Sheen said on Today: "I’m here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive and i have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful … stories that I am threatening the health of others, which couldn’t be farther from the truth.” PLUS: Sheen could face lawsuits from six women.

I wonder of Charlie's now infamous meltdown (which got him kicked off of 2 & 1/2 Men in the first place) coincides w/ his initial HIV diagnosis. It kind of fits in when you really try to put the pieces together. For starters, both roughly happened both conveniently enough in 2011.

If you look at Charlie Sheen's appearance around that period of his breakdown, it seems to me he was probably pretty far along in his infection. He was very gaunt and sickly looking. Prior to that period he had a full face and looked healthy post-breakup with Denise Richards.

He said he was having cluster headaches, migraines, and sweating like crazy, which is why he went to the doctor and they tested him for it in the first place. Obviously, he didn't just get it - he'd had it for a while and developed symptoms from a compromised immune system, leading to him getting tested.

Default How Charlie Sheen’s HIV status was kept secret from the media all these years

The NY Times reports the extent Sheen and his people went to keep his secret hush-hush, including allegedly paying a blogger $60,000 to remove posts about Sheen’s HIV status.
