Here's just a few of mine:

Nick@Nite- Had Classic programs all night long
2. Back in the day, George Lopez wasn't on the channel
3. Had right airing times. Not off the clock airings.

Nickelodeon-
1. The Cartoons. Ahhh I remember tuning into Nickelodeon every day and catching my favorite cartoons. For Ex: Hey Arnold! , Ahhhhhh! Real Monsters, Rugrats,etc...... Now what can Nickelodeon be called? The Spongebob network. I love Spongebob. But 10x a day? I don't think so

2. The Logo. Any other posters here remember the old splat logo? It was a fun and awesome logo! The network had it for over 20 years. Until 2009. That's when they changed it to a boring and bland looking logo. The current logo, has no"fun" or innocence of being a child. If only the channel would go back to the splat!

3. Live action shows and game shows- back in the 90s Nickelodeon had some of the best live action shows to ever air on the network. They also had some good game shows like The legends of the hidden temple. These days, there isn't a game show to be seen on Nickelodeon. Nor, are there any good live-action shows.

I remember there used to be game show on Nickelodeon that did well in the past. After Nickelodeon rebrand, Brainsurge used to do well which lasted three seasons, though last season had low ratings. Figure It Out reboot did well in 2012 because of slime. I really love the slime especially when it took place in Orlando, FL.

Nick at Nite I missed airing old bumpers and the use of old slogan. Current Nick at Nite doesn't do that anymore. TVLand sitcoms had been airing on Nick at Nite for premieres that I TOTALLY HATE. I missed the old logo which had color blue.

Remember how the old logo would morph into 100 hundred other logos? Those were the good ole' days. And I do miss their classic bumpers too!

The only things I don't understand, how has Nickelodeon live action in 90s are how did it do better; but current live actions on Nickelodeon doesn't hit well, especially in adult demos? most adults called those kidcoms.

I can name 16 reasons why Nickelodeon/Nick Jr./Nick at Nite was FAR better 25 years ago than it is now.

1-The FIRST Kids Network!-Okay, the kids still have say-so, but when it debuted in 1979, it didn't have much. But when You Can't Do That On Television made its was on the network...Nickelodeon started to bloom! Gen-Y/Millenials have eclectic taste with things so they liked classic shows and modern shows. It's coming back, but we have a long way to go.

2-Quality of original shows-You can only show many rerun shows for X amount of time, but Nickelodeon did supply us with Nicktoons, Clarissa, Double Dare, and Snick just to name a few. It wasn't Spongebob Network and even though Rugrats was overplayed...it wasn't TOO overplayed.

3-The Bumpers-When I mean bumpers, Nickelodeon showed bumper cartoons containing some very abstract cartoons from other countries. One was called Sports Cartoon that was seen a lot.

4-Commercial Ads-The Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite ads were second-to-none back then...they gave it time. Nick at Nite has some VERY good promos!

5-Nickelodeon Studios-This has been the backbone of Nickelodeon during its Orange Years (1988-1998). Many of the game shows, comedies, and sketch shows were filmed at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida! There was even a slime machine that splurted-out green water, more greener than the Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day!

6-Nick at Nite-Before TV Land, Nick at Nite had some decent shows during its heyday. I even got to watch 1930's LT Cartoons which you'll never see again for obvious reasons. But it also showed vintage TV Shows that now you can see on Antenna TV and MeTV.

7-Showing Syndicated Shows-I may be the last generation to see how good cartoons were in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Okay...they weren't that good, but I grew up watching Underdog, Heathcliff, and Yogi Bear on Nickelodeon. They even had the British Imports Danger Mouse and Count Duckula on there. Today...they're all first-run shows!

8-The Kids Have A Voice-They had things like kids taking-over the school for the day, Kids Choice Awards, Presidential Debates...mostly for Bill Clinton but still...there was also Nick News. It showed that childern need to learn as well.

9-Nick Jr.-I think Nickelodeon originally was to compete against PBS, but they waned-off until 1989 when they had Nick Jr. When it launched during its time, it was mostly shows with stories, but it was FAR more entertaining than Dora the Explorer who's just obnoxiously loud...she then became Consuela! Okay...that last part was below the belt!

10-Nick Games-Many were probably hard like Legends of the Hidden Temple or Nick Arcade, but Nick Games has a strnghold for the game show world. Their biggest game ever was Double Dare and what makes the show interesting is the host...Marc Somers...who has OCB...logically, people with OCB are neat yet Marc Somers was on the messiest game show ever!

11-Nicktoons-As I mentioned...you can only show so much reruns that you need some originality. Enter...Nicktoons! The first Big Three were Doug, Rugrats, and Ren and Stimpy. Though I'm NOT a fan of Ren and Stimpy to today...it did cause controversy for the station, but kids loved its vulgarity. Today...not much shock, even Spongebob isn't as shocking as Ren and Stimpy.

12-Nothing before 1980-This goes for Nick at Nite...I still wish that N@N would keep 80's shows now and have shows prior to that, but it seemed N@N then was pre-1980. Today, it shows post-1990 shows...soon it may be post-2000 shows!

13-Snick-It may not be as strong as the other entries, but Snick was seen on Saturday night and for older children, it was like the Saturday Night version of TGIF. The shows that had high recognition is All That and Are You Afraid of the Dark? All That to me is a teenage version of SNL...ironically...Kenan Thompson became one of the members of SNL. I wish that Kel Mitchell would host SNL...maybe I should make a petition for that!

14-Nickcoms-Nickelodeon sitcoms...or Nickcoms had their breakthrough between 1989 and 1993. Shows like Clarissa Explains it All, Hey Dude, and Pete and Pete to name a few...became staples for the older kids.

15-The Logo-Logos are the less feature, but for 25 years (1984-2009) Nickelodeon had the orange splat or other logos, even Nick at Nite was the same way. Creativity was flourished during Nickelodeon's Orange Era (1988-1998).

16-NO Spongebob!-Prior to 1999, Nickelodeon was Spongebob-free! MTV owns Nickelodeon and they saw that Spongebob Squarepants is the cash-cow...follow the money! I call Spongebob the Elmo of Nickelodeon...let's forget the other shows that don't make money and have this instead...today, Nickelodeon is learning from this mistake...but is it too late?

When I think of Nick Jr., I think of more like Maya the Bee, David the Gnome (with the late Tom Bosley as David the Gnome), Little Koala, Fred Penner's Place, Noozles, and The Elephant Show just to name a few.

I miss not only the programming but the "tonight's lineup" and which episode was coming up next. Also, the "make your own Sunday" and the milkman promos. I always remember them as a kid.

I did recall that back in 2009 or 2010, Nick at Nite did a promo for what episode is coming next for George Lopez. Though it was weird because no other off network shows did a promo for saying what episode is next.

The reasons I would suggest this idea are:
Low ratings. If you look at primetime cable ratings, they show more adults are watching channels like FX, Comedy Central, and TBS rather than Nick@Nite. Even their original shows have been failures because they simply don't attract audiences.

It has a channel of it's own. Viacom has a channel called TV Land which shows reruns of classic sitcoms and had more success with original programs. And it's on basic cable like Nickelodeon. Some of the NAN shows also air on other sister channels like BET.

Running on autopilot. Nick@Nite has been repeating the same four shows for years with little changes to the schedule. It appears that Nick doesn't have any plans for the block.

Friends episodes have been skipping those controversy episodes, and most holiday episodes including christmas episodes. Even Nick at Nite continues to be a failure to promote christmas or any holiday blocks, and schedule lacks.

Also don't forget that TVLand originals simulcast Nick at Nite for new episodes, which ratings fare much lower than any total viewers and primetime viewers. Off the clock also lose ratings. The heavy adult commercials drive most viewers away.
