Simon Cowell Will Replace Howard Stern on "America's Got Talent"

Simon Cowell is heading back behind the judges' table - this time on "America's Got Talent".

Cowell, who created the "Got Talent" franchise across the pond, will replace Howard Stern as a judge on the reality competition's upcoming 11th season, NBC announced Thursday. He'll also continue to serve as executive producer.

"I am really thrilled to be joining America's Got Talent next season," Cowell said in a statement.

"What I love about this show is that it's open to absolutely anyone. America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!"

I never watched AI but I fear this means more singing acts, especially now that AI is leaving the air.

Simon should be entertaining as a judge. The producers probably felt they needed a "blunt" person on the panel.

I just hope AGT continues with a variety of acts.

It has been a fun show to watch.
