Melissa Joan Heart "Extremely Disappointed" with Media's 9/11 Coverage

Melissa Joan Hart took to Twitter and Instagram on Friday to vent her frustration of the media's lack of coverage for this year's 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The 39-year-old actress expressed her disappointment with a series of tweets beginning with singling out coverage by CNN and Fox News. She tweeted: "Extremely disappointed in @foxnews and @CNN for not having continual coverage of Sept11 memorial & names listed on the banner!! #neverforget."



Hart noted that the coverage didn't receive the same promotion as the Kardashians. She tweeted:

"If kardashians can be covered 24/7 why can't we have one day dedicated to a moment in history that changed our path? I don't need to see tragedy, I need to see stories of healing &memory! #neverforget."



The actress, whose hometown is in Long Island, posted her share of photos dedicated to Sept. 11 including a photo of a rainbow that appeared over the World Trade Center. She tweeted that without the proper news coverage, her kids won't truly know the importance of the historical terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers.

"My children need to know that this day changed our lives in the U.S. and the world and without solid news coverage, I'm discouraged. #neverforget "



After social media users had their opportunity to respond both negatively and positively to Hart's thoughts, the actress followed up with a tweet stating that her posts weren't used as a ploy for attention.

"I hope those that know what I stand for know that I never meant to have the attention turn to me today. I was merely venting," tweeted Hart.

Melissa Joan Hart managed to achieve a pretty rare thing as a young performer- after an acting career that began at age 4, she was the star of two TV shows almost back-to-back, meaning that she was permanently in the public eye through her childhood and teenage years. Unpleasant though this news was, it did launch a thousand “Clarissa, Explain This!” style headlines so you can thank her for that if you’re into that sort of thing.
