Shows like 24, Prison Break and The X-Files have brand names that the other shows don’t have. The problem is that the same people whose decisions led their shows to be canceled are the same ones reviving these shows.

I am guessing that popularity is what brings them back.

P.S. I don't know about everyone else here, but I enjoy the Boy Meets World resurrection. I love seeing the characters that we grew up with hand their knowledge down to Corey's kids and their friends.

Because people can't come up with an original idea. Either plots, settings, and so on. So they get lazy and bring back popular shows that they think people want to see again. Just my opinion.
