For those who don't know what the proposed Continental League was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_League Since this time, every one of the proposed cities (Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Wort, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York, Toronto) has eventually received a Major League Baseball franchise (the Braves, Rangers, Rockies, Astros, Twins, Mets, and Blue Jays respectively) save for Buffalo. For the sake of the argument let's just say that there actually was a third league to compete or go along w/ the American League and National League during the 1960s and onward? In 1959, when the Continental League was first announced, there were eight franchises in both the American and National Leagues: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1959_in_baseball How would a third league obviously, factor into the annual All-Star Game and the postseason? For example, would there had necessitated a pre-World Series round playoff series (which of course, wouldn't officially happen until 1969)?
