Rosie Perez Leaving "The View"

Seven months after Rosie O’Donnell’s exit was announced, another Rosie is leaving "The View". This time, it’s Rosie Perez. Her last day on the ABC News program will be August 6, the final original show of the season. Expect Perez, who joined the show in September, to talk about her exit on tomorrow’s broadcast. There is no word yet on a replacement.

“Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show to pursue full time her love for acting,” EP Bill Wolff told staff this afternoon in an email.



Nicolle Wallace, who also joined "The View" in September, Raven-Symoné, who became a co-host last month, and Whoopi Goldberg are locks to come back next season, but Wallace’s future is unclear.

Speculation has been building for a while that Perez and/or Wallace might not be back for another season, as Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reported last week.

Report: Michelle Collins Added as Permanent "View" Co-Host

Another day, another "View" change-up: Frequent guest host Michelle Collins soon will debut as a permanent co-host, The Wrap reports.

News of Collins’ appointment broke Wednesday, the same day that Rosie Perez announced her imminent departure during the broadcast of the ABC chatfest. Insider reports say that Collins' announcement was delayed in order to give departing co-host Perez her moment.

According to the site, Wallace has been offered a guest contributor position for next September’s Season 19, but has yet to decide if she will take it. A rep for "The View" did not immediately respond to a query about Wallace’s departure.

On The View, Wallace listed her knowledge of Kardashian facts after it was reported that one of the reasons why she was being axed was because she “was not up to speed on the Kardashians.”

Nicolle Wallace Exits "The View" after Declining Offered Demotion

Having put her detractors to shame recently by demonstrating her Kardashian knowledge, "The View" co-host Nicolle Wallace now has nothing more to prove on the show and has declined the producers’ offered demotion to contributor.

She will instead focus her attention on covering Donald Trump’s race to the White House as a contributor for MSNBC, where she recently signed a new pact.



EP Bill Wolff released a statement on Wallace's departure:

“Our friend Nicolle Wallace is going to leave the show at the conclusion of the season. Having worked with her for most of the last year, you know the warmth, smarts, and professionalism she has brought to the job every day. She will always be a friend of our show, and I know you join me in wishing her only the best.”



"Full House" star Candace Cameron Bure and "GMA's" Paula Farris are in talks to replace Wallace and Rosie Perez.
