I had learned of this cancellation from a news article published by the Orlando Sentinel.

Not cancelled in the usual sense, by a network or distributor, instead cancelled by lack of funds to continue operating -- thus the extremely short notice over a weekend.

the show was good when Andy Campbell was the host, but I wouldn't exactly call it "news" - it was just a morning "infotainment" show similar to Today or Good Morning America.
the show actually started here in Dayton before it became nationally syndicated. |

It pretty much stayed on the air thanks to a glacial contract with the WB/CW cable stations that was made back in the days when Jamie Kellner (who owned the original company behind the show with a bunch of WB affiliates AND was a WB network president) strong-armed them into carrying the series; it only stayed on because the other choice most CW/MyNet stations make at that time slots are either infomercials, shows like The Believer's Voice of Victory, or Byron Allen's false court shows. Without the WB/CW 100 deal, it wouldn't have lasted beyond the CW/UPN merger.

The station that was set to have "The Daily Buzz" broadcast in my area before its cancellation was set to have a local news program from another TV station in the area broadcast in its place (both stations were owned by the same company).

The Daily Buzz used to air on my CW affiliate weekdays from 6-9AM. Each year they kept reducing a half hour of it, I think this year it was just on 6-7 before being cancelled.

The program was usually broadcast over the course of two hours from Monday through Friday in my area before its cancellation.

I dont think I've ever even heard of the show. There was a show I think, on my local CW affiliate in CT. that aired something at 11am or so, but I'm not sure if thats it.
