Default Limited Wardrobe for Dorothy ("Missy")

In watching the color episodes with Whitney Blake, I've noticed that Dorothy Baxter wears the same brown dress in at least 7 separate episodes...! (At least one scene per those eps.)

I'll try to describe it: Medium-length housedress with short sleeves, very distinctive style due to a bib-style, light-colored front -- with buttons and vertical stripes on the bib.

Everyone has favorite clothes at times, but Dorothy is supposed to be a relatively well-to-do woman, who naturally would have a pretty extensive wardrobe.

I realize that people originally viewed these eps stretched over the course of an entire season or two, so such repetition wouldn't have been anywhere near as noticeable. But to offer such a limited wardrobe for an important cast member will have me on the lookout for other budgetary cost-cutting on Hazel -- courtesy of Screen Gems!

I've also read (whether true or not) that Whitney Blake claimed that Shirley Booth purposely wanted Blake to be dressed in bland colors and clothes as Booth was the star of the show.

But like I said, I don't know if this is true, even if Ms. Blake did say it.......

Lol Mrs. B was even beaten out to be a Fashion Model By Hazel!

You could put a burlap sack on Whitney and she'd stand out, in several senses of the word. Va Va Va Voom.

I've also read the suggestion that Whitney Blake was very often outfitted in drab beiges and tans that made her fade into the background. Whitney otherwise, looked terrific in vivid reds and blues. Keep in mind that in those days, early color TV was limited to bright primary colors.

I wish that there was a way to keep track on what Whitney Blake wore on Hazel because she always seemed to me at least, like she was dressed to the nines. It helped a lot that she already had a svelte figure.

I wonder if Hazel would have permitted Missy to parade around in this?
