This shocked me to read this but I'm glad he's doing better.

I hope they did not teach this talented man that alcoholism is an incurable disease. Probably told him that his "disease" was genetic since someone in his family was an addict..."Your great half uncle drank beer everyday which proves the disease is genetic, and it 'runs in families'."
It is not the disease, because the disease does not exist, and there is absolutely no medical evidence whatsoever to support this. None. Might as well be trying to prove that Bigfoot or Unicorns are real. Probably the stresses of fame and his stardom got to him. Lots and lots of actors and performers go down this road (Judy Garland for example, she was crazy and depressed.) Lots of pressure to lead a show like he does. Alcohol takes that pressure away and puts the brain on a shelf. I drink to intoxication about once a week. Been to rehab, doesn't work, AA is a joke, and all the rehabs work under a failed system. |
