ALF creator/performer Paul Fusco talks in detail about the cancellation of the show and the proposed fifth season.

True. But it still hasn't aged well.

It was probably a relief too for the actors having to go with being on set for long hours due to the setting and lighting of the damn ALF puppet.

ALF probably would have worked best on a continuing basis as a cartoon. It often appeared in cartoon form. I'm pretty sure there was a Saturday morning cartoon version of ALF at one time. As someone on this thread mentioned, it was hard for the actors to walk around all the holes needed for ALF on the set.

It was better as a cartoon.

After two seasons and outgrowing its premise, I forgot the show was still on.

There is an article about Alf from I think Cracked.com which states that it was one of the most difficult shows to do which included trapped doors in the floor. This is the article. According to Andrea Elson who played the daughter, everyone would have “lost it” of the show went went more year. Supposedly the puppeteer was somewhat of a control freak.
https://www.cracked.com/article_135_...bers-life.html While I don’t know, it seems that Max Wright having to play a supporting role to a puppet had to have some challenges to say the least. I am sure the pay was excellent but still. |
