Default Donald Faison Just Ruined His Geek Credibility By Saying ‘Star Trek’ Is Really Lame

I’ve never been much for the fighting between Star Trek and Star Wars fans. At the end of the day, any competition makes little sense because each is different. It’s like comparing apples and oranges, leaving it solely as a matter of taste.

That’s where Donald Faison’s opinion comes into play. He took a moment away from having Scrubs reunions to give his opinion saying he prefers the faster pace and action that accompanies the Star Wars series over the science and exploration of Trek. The only problem is he has to throw Star Trek under the bus while he’s doing it, like he enjoys kicking a nest of socially awkward hornets.

Personally, I take the Deion Sanders route and say I like both. They have different qualities that pique my interests and I enjoyed them. Both have plenty of embarrassing moments to toss around, so when Faison throws out that lame Gorn fight, someone else can show Jabba’s Palace or the Ewoks. You can make the Gorn seem cool nowadays, but you’re going to be hard pressed to turn the Ewoks into badasses.

In a way he has a point, I myself love Star Wars for it's epic space battles, lightsaber duels and kick-ass characters.

Star Trek is all about exploration and discovering new worlds with rinky dink phasers that couldn't stand a chance against Stormtrooper blasters.

And I put them in this category: Star Wars is for geeks and Star Trek is for nerds.

I have to agree with Donald Faison. I like both Star Trek and Star Wars, but I like Star Wars a bit better than Trek. It's epic on a galactic scale, it's got cooler ships and weapons and better looking aliens. It's just all around more interesting.
