Well it's true, people under the age of 20 aren't watching Mad Men, hell I'm 38 and I'm not even watching it but that's because it doens't interest me. Although I do like Jon Hamm's SNL appearances.

I think for whatever reason, 43 year old people are "younger" than 43 year old people 43 years ago, if that makes any sense. Watch the Mary Tyler Moore show and watch Parks and Recreation now. The people are similar ages, and see how younger and more hip the 40's people are now than 40's people in 1975.

Concerning Mad Men, I am sure the show skews to an older demographic, people in their 40's and older who either grew up or worked in the 1950's-1970's. I dont think someone 20 years old would be into a show about a bunch of alcoholic, sex maniac, advertising guys in 1965.

I would also say that if you gave the show a try and gave it up, give it another try. It took me about three tries to get into the show, more or less because Mad Men is about 99.9999% accurate with the clothes, sets, and little things like a Nabisco cracker tin my mother (and I guess millions of others) have.
