TV Adam Pally is Leaving "The Mindy Project"

Adam Pally is Departing "The Mindy Project" Early Next Year
Nov 21, 2014
by Kate Stanhope

"The Mindy Project's" Shulman & Associates is starting to have a serious retention problem. Adam Pally, who stars as Dr. Peter Prentice on the Fox comedy, will be leaving the show in early 2015, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

As first reported by TVLine, Pally's plan to exit the series after this season's 13th episode was reportedly set some time ago. The actor recently signed a deal with ABC Studios to produce projects for broadcast, cable and new media.

He is expected to make return appearances to "The Mindy Project" as his schedule permits.

Pally first appeared on the series in a recurring role in Season 2, after the end of "Happy Endings'" three-season run. He was later promoted to a series regular.

"The Mindy Project" is no stranger to cast shakeups. Series regular Stephen Tobolowsky left after the series' eighth episode, followed by Amanda Setton and Anna Camp, who exited at different points in the middle of Season 1.

Zoe Jarman departed after Season 2.

Not so fast people, they might decide expand the main cast from 8 to 12 members ASAP. Adam may not leave this show yet, also Zoe might return, and same thing for Allison.

In honor of Adam Pally's ‘Mindy Project' departure, all the times Peter Prentice was the absolute MOST

There might be a chance that he may not depart yet. The main cast may expand its main cast from 8 members to 12 members. He will be one of the 12 and the other two of the 12 should be the return of Betsy and final addition return of Abby The expanded main cast needs to increase a little bit more on ratings.

Won't 12 main castmembers be too much for The Mindy Project, which, unfortunately, still has low ratings/viewership? I'd be open to it if the show's ratings/viewership were higher (about 6 million viewers, maybe 8 milion), but as it is, I'd rather just stay at the number they have now. We do not have to force anything on the show.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

12 isn't too much, but over 12 would be. We need that number in order strengthen more interaction in this show. Any show with more stronger interaction in it should make it more interesting to the public in order to gain some more ratings one step at a time. Just do not stay put in that number too long.
