"The Meredith Vieira Show" Renewed by NBC Stations

NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution’s "The Meredith Vieira Show" has become the first freshman syndicated talk show to get picked up for Season 2 as its launch group, the NBC Owned Television Stations, has renewed it.

As was the case with Katie Couric’s "Katie" and "The Queen Latifah Show", the renewal was pretty much a formality as the high-profile talkers had been sold in mostly two-year deals.

My NBC station downgraded Meredith from 5PM to 11AM.

"The Meredith Vieira Show" Officially Cancelled

It’s official: NBCUniversal has cancelled "The Meredith Vieira Show", announcing early Monday that the syndicated program’s current second season will be its last. Low ratings were the culprit.

Vieira won’t be out of work for long. According to Deadline, Vieira will take part in NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics games in Rio de Janeiro.

“I am so sorry to see our show come to an end after this season, but I am also incredibly proud of the work our staff has done and forever grateful to our supportive viewers,” Vieira said in a statement.

“We promise to spend our final weeks producing the best broadcast we know how. And have a blast doing so!”

This comes as no surprise, I have been taping & watching the show from the beginning & all they have on there are old Celebrities from the past if you want to call Matt Lauer, etc... a Celebrity & stupid talk show spots.
