Question Was Cindy always supposed to be a temporary third roommate

I wonder why Jenilee Harrison's Cindy Snow wasn't made the permanent "blonde roommate" (instead going w/ Priscilla Barnes' Terri Alden as Suzanne Somers/Chrissy Snow's full-time replacement come Season 6) after Suzanne Somers was officially fired? Whenever going through comments regarding Jenilee's performance, I often come across stuff about her apparently being too "green" of an actress at the time to really work.

Is it just that the producers wanted a completely fresh start (by "going against type" by having a "smart blonde" this time) so to speak after the nightmarish fifth season w/ all of the backstage issues w/ Suzanne Somers. I guess during the fifth season, Cindy for the most part, had lines that were originally scripted for Chrissy (the only real difference was that Cindy was supposed to be very clumsy).

I really liked the Cindy character and wished they would have made her a permanent cast member. I loved how she and John worked together.

I don't know why they replaced her. She and Ritter made a good comedy team. She did a good job at beating him up. It is kind of weird how tall Jenilee is. She must be at least 5'10" without heels? She doesn't look right being the same height as John Ritter or taller.....

Jennilee Harrison was very green in the TV/comedy business and had to be pretty much "trained" on set. She was also really young, younger than any of the roommates and much younger than Suzanne had been, and the writers/producers felt it was weird for Jack to be coming on to such a young, wide-eyed country bumpkin. So it limited the sex jokes and instead there was more physical comedy.

I never liked Cindy. I thought her acting was poor and the clumsiness aspect just wasn't funny (except in the episode where Cindy accidentally knocks over the guy with the gun with the door, which was hilarious).

Yeah I think I remember hearing that from E!'s THS which is why they needed to bring back the sexiness to the show which is the reason for Teri moving in.

She was funny sometimes as Jack's dupe, but she was definitely the least popular roommate. They were smart to phase her out and bring Priscilla in.

Also, when Cindy was around, it always felt like they were killing time until Jack and Janet were on screen.

Because she was

1. Taller than Jack

2. Too Goofy

3. Not Funny
