Confused Is ABC setting "Black-ish" up to fail?

http://www.lipstickalley.com/showthread.php?t=752731

Quote:
Spoke with someone that works at ABC and they indicated that the new black sitcom 'black-ish' is being set up to fail. They wanted it to be so offensive and off putting that there would be low ratings and they would have no choice but to cancel. Then the network can say that they tried to do a black show, but it didn't work. It lets them off the hook and makes them look like they aren't the raging racists that they are. it's pretty common in the industry, happens with black shows on other major networks all the time.

Interesting, though Black-ish looks like it has potential I'm going to be watching.

I also hope this isn't true. It's the only new show that looks like it will be good, IMO.

This is silly. A network doesn't spend millions on a show just to "set it up to fail". Particularly when that show is airing behind the network's biggest hit.

The title is awful, though.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

I hope not, it's the only fall sitcom along with Cristela that I plan on watching.

I think it's way too much competition in 2014 for a black show to survive on ABC
