Default RIP Robin Williams

So sad about this. The word "genius" is thrown about a lot, but Robin Williams had such a unique talent for comedy and dramatic roles, that I do consider him a genius.

Default Robin Williams mourned by his “Crazy Ones” family

http://www.deadline.com/2014/08/davi...illiams-death/

The talent was legendary. But equally inspiring, perhaps more so, was his kindness and humanity,” David E. Kelley said in a statement. “A gentle soul who touched us all. A very special man, and our hearts are broken.” Meanwhile, Sarah Michelle Gellar said "my life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having.”

I was shocked when I saw it on the news last night. I said No,No,No,No. I was speechless. To me, he will always be Mork, Genie from Aladdin and Mrs.Doubtfire. My other favorite movies from him are Good Morning Vietnam,Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting for which he deserved that Oscar. R.I.P. Robin Williams.

“The Crazy Ones” seemed biographical for Williams.

Default Report: Robin Williams had a drink while filming “The Crazy Ones” at a restaurant

http://pagesix.com/2014/08/13/robin-...ink-on-tv-set/

Page Six also reports that on set, "Williams frequently engaged in his trademark frenetic shtick, veering off script and forcing co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar to improvise her responses.”

Default Report: Robin Williams “was struggling” on “The Crazy Ones” set

http://www.people.com/article/robin-...eath-last-days

A source tells People magazine: "We knew he was struggling. We were doing a scene, and it was just off. I looked over at him, and in that moment, his face changed. He looked so exhausted and profoundly, deeply sad. And then one minute later he pulled himself back together, and he nailed the scene. He had a depth; that's where the darkness came from, but there was just so much there."

I am convinced that the cancellation of The Crazy Ones is what pushed him over the edge He came back to Network TV because he needed the money and career boost and it was humbling for him to have to do so and THEN it flopped and the network did little to save it and just cast him off not realizing how much it took for him to do TV again. Sad sad. CBS has guilt in this in my mind.

I've been watching "Dead Poets Society" for the past two days and it saddens me a little. He was wonderful as Mr. Keating.

I saw an interesting documentary about the last weeks and death of Robin Williams and what the cause of his death was. It is on You Tube. Sorry, I do t know the name of the program, but type in "last days, Robin Williams" and you should find it.

First thing, Williams was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease, along with depression. Second, and much worse, he was also diagnosed with dementia, and was acting very erratically, like hiding his watches in socks and other weird, paranoid behavior. There was little medically that could be done for Williams, and if he lived, would have been in a nursing home in a few years with his mind and faculties totally lost.

The show speculated that Williams tried to kill himself before, and succeeded probably during a manic episode. So, I don't think it was so much that his show was cancelled (and sorry, it wasn't good, and I tried to like it and gave up), but more than Williams was losing his mind and faculties and if sane, didn't want to live like that, especially someone with a mind like his (he was a genius).
