Default 10 ‘Boy Meets World’ Episodes to Recreate for a New Generation

http://www.ryantalkstv.com/10-boy-me...l-meets-world/

Quote:
1. “Cory’s Alternative Friends”

This early season one episode introduced the world to Topanga Lawrence, as well as a romance that couldn’t be stopped. The future Mrs. Matthews danced to poetry with a face covered in lipstick; Later on, she and Cory shared their first kiss. If Riley and Lucas are the new Cory and Topanga, we’ll need a moment as adorable as this one.

2. “Santa’s Little Helper”

Though this episode isn’t quite as memorable, it was the first installment to focus on Shawn and his impoverished family.

The “Girl Meets World” pilot briefly touches upon Maya coming from a broken home, but the spinoff will need to revisit that idea in a more meaningful way if its writers ever want Maya’s troubles to carry the same weight as Shawn’s.

3. “Boy Meets Girl”

This episode was the first to show that Cory had a crush on Topanga. The uncontrollable laughter he spewed upon high-fiving his future bride was a redefining moment for the program, which up until then had focused more on Cory’s home life than on his friendships with Topanga and Shawn. A similar laugh is uttered by Riley when she first sees Lucas on the subway. Like father, like daughter, I suppose.

4. “Notorious”

Just as Shawn tried pulling a fast one on Mr. Feeny by misprinting his name in the student newspaper (“Weeny! It says Weeny! I can read!”), Maya can attempt to pull a fast one on Mr. Matthews. Perhaps an exposé on Cory’s love of pudding?

5. “Career Day”

In this season two episode, Chet Hunter was officially introduced, and Shawn’s backstory was firmly established. It was a turning point for “Boy,” as it showed the program could be equally successful exploring darker themes and tragic premises.

6. “Wheels”

Riley and Maya aren’t old enough to drive, but perhaps in season four?

This 1997 episode pitted father against son as Cory and Alan argued over the former’s driving privileges on the eve of his 16th birthday. Above all else, it was an episode about the unbreakable bond between a father and his child. For “Girl” to succeed, it’ll need to be as much about the Matthews’ family bond as it is about Riley and Maya’s separate adventures.

7. “Chick Like Me”

No part of me needs to see Ben Savage’s hosiery bunching ever again!

But perhaps a new combination of characters are coerced into dressing up as the opposite sex for the sake of a school assignment?

Also probably best if we wait until later seasons to tackle this one!

8. “And Then There was Shawn”

This “Scream” parody is a favorite amongst “Boy’s” fan base, but unless “Scream 5″ comes along, “Girl Meets World” might need a more contemporary horror film to spoof.

9. “Bee True”

Unlike Mr. Feeny, Cory won’t need Riley and Maya’s help to tell the woman of his dreams how he feels, but maybe, just maybe, they’ll have a scheme to reunite Shawn and Angela.

A fan can dream!

10. “The War”/”Seven the Hard Way”

Okay, so technically this is two episodes, but c’mon! I don’t even know that I need “Girl Meets World” to remake this hour, but I demand an update on the whereabouts of Plays with Squirrels. He married a moose!

Thanks for sharing! It's funny how everyone discussing my article on the IMDB threads is saying they don't want rehashes. Yet, most episodes thus far have included elements of former "Boy Meets World" episodes:

Episode one pulled from "Me and Mr. Joad" and the subway scene where Riley first sees Lucas pulls from "Boy Meets Girl."

Episode three's Auggie B-plot was reminiscent in tone of the season one episode in which Morgan traded her dolls with a friend, and wound up with the mother's car. In fact, Auggie in general reminds me of season one Morgan.

Episode four pulled from the thematics of the Shawn/Feeny relationship. Time and time again, Shawn had to be reassured that his teacher was looking out for him. He needed to know that Feeny cared about him, and wasn't just looking down at him. The same goes for Maya and Cory.

Episode five opened with the Romeo and Juliet play, and Farkle taking the lead similarly to how Minkus had in "The Play's the Thing."

There are, without a doubt, more examples I'm blanking on right now which I'm sure others can point out.

I want to see original stories, not remakes. Maybe a sequel to some episodes.
