Default Seems like Florida was programmed to always be poor because after they won the

lottery florida was saying "hey you boys need a new sofa bed"

HUH? lol What about a new and bigger place and both of them get their own bed in their own room?

She had such a stupid way of thinking and always seemed to feel content living in the hood

Didn't she stop to think that JJ (by that time a grown man) might be tired of sharing a sofa bed with his younger brother?

Florida has pissed me off in a lot of episodes, but this was definitely one of her dumbest moments.
Florida was a woman who seemed content with being poor. Like when James was offered the job in Alaska, she should have let him go.

Florida was such a dumbass. That job would have meant a better life for the entire family. James would have provided and sent the bulk of his check back to his family. But NO..... Florida just had to convince James to stay in the ghetto.

$2500 in 1976 would have brought them into a more upgraded apartment with security and everything! This is the reason why I dislike Florida because like you said she was content with her living conditions. It was JJ's money and she had no right to overrule what he wanted to do with that money. Mother or not. They almost lost it with Edna and Rozie (Shirley) I can imagine what $2500 back then was back then, because it sure is a whole lot of change nowadys! Florida held that family from advancing!

$2500 in 1976 had the same power as $10, 742 in 2014

Default Where's the list of Florida Evans ruining everything?

For example:
*She didn't want to do that Vitabrite commercial because it would be telling a lie.

*James not taking the job in Alaska because she didn't want him away for a year...

*When she refused to take the cashiers check from her cousin because he bet on horses.
