Why do the "haters" love to hate "Full House"?

For the record, I have only seen a few episodes of Full House in my life. Not that I thought it was horrible, it just did not sound like something I would like.

But, the show was harmless enough, a guy who was a widower with a bunch of pretty kids, with two other main male adults, one was Jon Stamos, (like I said, I have seen the show so little, I do not know the relationship of all the characters. I think the Stamos character married some English chick who was hot, who had a cute and annoying kid, and I think they had a kid.....and so on.

Like I said, the show seemed harmless enough, but I have heard many people online who have claimed that this was the worst thing since Hitler, and the worst thing on TV. American civilization is on its last legs because Full House stayed on for so long. People really, really HATED this show.

But why? Were the people "too beautiful and rich"? I never got it, but this show had very vocal fans who either loved it or hated it. Explain.

To be a downer though, I never thought the Olsen twins are/were attractive. Looks like a couple of space aliens to me.

First the connections are Danny(Bob Saget) has three daughters Donna Jo Margret or DJ or Deej (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie Judith Tanner (Jodie Sweetin),and Michelle Elizabeth Tanner (Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen) Danny's wife, Pam died in a car accident when Michelle was only 6 months old , and Pam's Brother is Jesse and Joey is Danny's best friend, Becky ( Lori Loghin)is Jesses wife And they have two kids ,twins. Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit ) Kimmy Gibbler is DJ's weird friend. Steve is DJ's boyfriend.

Here's the thing, while Full House was admittedly, a very cheesy and corny show, it benefited from being "camp-cheese" (if that makes sense) much like for example, Saved by the Bell. As I said before, Full House at least could be enjoyed for the guilty pleasure factor. The Nostalgia Critic perhaps said it best when he said that Full House was "cocaine for the eyes". It was sort of like for people who grew up in the late '80s early '90s, their generation's Brady Bunch.

So why was this show such a success? Honestly I think it just hit the right note at the right time. It was just harmless enough, friendly enough, easily digestible enough. It’s like junk food. You always know exactly what you’re going to get when you watch it and it presents no challenge or need to think whatsoever. You know it’s bad for you but you still engage. It’s an indulgence. One thing I didn’t realize going into this project that became clear as I paid attention to the site’s demographics is that an awful lot of young girls watched the show. That actually explains a lot, because a series about 3 little girls who have 3 doting, non-threatening father figures tending to their every whim and need is a pretty obvious little girl fantasy. Ultimately, I think that Full House is a product of a unique time, when a combination of low-quality elements somehow came together to create a hit series that couldn’t have endured during any other period.
