The spinoff is exactly like every other current Disney Channel sitcom. Read more at http://www.hitfix.com/tv-tattle#mLzGYG8q1oXdoxGK.99 |

I've been seeing the previews like crazy on the Disney Channel and I'm not impressed at all. But then again I never liked "Boy Meets World" much at all either. Only watched it b/c nothing else was on. But yeah, the new shows on Disney haven't been very good at all. The last good one that they premiered was "Dog With A Blog" and even that took me a while to get into.

Figures the Disney Channel would find a way to mess it up!

I didn't have high hopes for GMW so this review doesn't come as a shock. However, being such a big BMW fan, I will give it a shot just to catch up with the "old gang". I really don't care about the new characters.

I watched the pilot already and I like it. It wasn't flawless, of course, but overall I enjoyed it. One thing that bugs me is Farkle - both the character and how his name is constantly being said in the episode. I'm hoping he's phased out much like Minkus was on BMW.
Most Disney shows suck (the only two I kinda like are "Good Luck, Charlie" and "Austin & Ally"). Of course it doesn't matter how I feel about that because none of those shows are aimed at me, lol. I'm a 32 year old single guy with no kids. Even though it wasn't a perfect pilot, I still feel this can be a good show. There are plenty of shows I love but didn't care for the premiere episode ("Wings" is an example). Even if I end up disliking this show, I'll always be glad that it happened. I like seeing what happens to two of my beloved BMW characters after they made the move to New York in the finale. |

Here we go again
The show will be fine, if people go in expecting it to be a continuation of BMW then that's on them, cause it's not. I'm not going to a review seriously, I'll watch for myself then judge. |

I've watched the pilot episode too and it was pretty good. It wasn't perfect and there were things abut it that I didn't like but it was pretty heartwarming and funny. Cory stills acts the same way he did on BMW and the ending is very sweet. It's way better than the shows on Disney nowadays. While it feels like Boy Meets World, it does have a bit of a Disney-feel though, particularly Farkle, who was a character straight out of another Disney show. All of the other new characters (except for maybe Lucas, the love interest, who wasn't bad just kind of boring) were pretty funny and well-presented though, but Farkle was a character you'd expect from any old Disney shows. He didn't seem a lot like Minkus besides his eagerness to learn. He seemed more like a half-hearted attempt to be similar to how Eric was in the later seasons of BMW.

I like most of the older shows on the Disney Channel, like Jessie, Good Luck Charlie, Dog With a Blog, Shake It Up, Austin and Ally. But the newer ones are just a joke as far as I'm concerned.

If you want to be fair to it, you have to compare it to season 1 of BMW. If you do that, it doesn't really do anything wrong or out of place.
If you were expecting this to have the same content as season 7 out of the gate, then you would be mistaken in your expectations. Seventh graders and college students don't exactly have the same lives. BMW was not the same show in the first season as it was by the end, so I don't know what some people are expecting here. Still, leave it to the internet to always jump to the worst possible conclusion as quickly as possible. |

“The series Disney Channel made isn’t” for “Boy Meets World” fans, says Kevin Fallon. "Instead, and logically, it’s for the Disney Channel audience, a group as young as we were when we first watched 'Boy Meets World' and who may not even have any idea what 'Boy Meets World' is. 'Girl Meets World' is simply a tween show with tween humor and loose ties to a series that grown ups used to love.” PLUS: “Boy Meets World” fans will get just a few inside jokes and flashbacks, it’s like any other Disney Channel show, and Ben Savage agrees you can’t build a show on nostalgia.
