Question Shows You Tried To Watch But Couldn't

Basically, shows that have gotten a lot of buzz, hype or critical acclaim but you somehow don't totally understand the appeal of (or have a hard time getting into).

THE BIG BANG THEORY-I've tried watching it a few times but I just don't see what everyone likes about it. I've tried to like it, but I just can't.

Breaking Bad for me but a little birdy told me that there's a chance I might like this in the future.

Best wishes,

The Mentalist has such a passionate online following and I've never enjoyed it or saw what was so great about it.

NCIS, or any 1hr tv show that trivialized and dissected a murder while showing disturbing images of the blood-soaked corpse. Even pieces of the cadaver. The obsession with human carnage on television (and movies) is tragically sick, demented and disgustingly putrid. That's NOT entertainment.

The Walking Dead - I'm a huge horror fan but was never into the zombie genre. I tried to give it a chance with this show but after watching the pilot realized an ongoing series of people fighting and running from zombies wouldn't hold my interest.

Comedy: Friends, Seinfeld, Raymond, 2 1/2, Fresh Prince, and too many shows of a similar ilk.

Drama: Little House, The Waltons, Northern Exposure, Gunsmoke-- just a few, but again, too many to name.

Reality: Most reality shows of today are utterly abhorrent to me. TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes, with Dick Clark and Ed McMahon, however, was very much the exception (it was on NBC in the 80s). Even though I didn't find many of the joke segments that funny, the bloopers and commercial segments usually got a laugh out of me.

Two more: Star Trek: TNG and Star Trek: DS9. TNG was boring as all get-out, but DS9 wasn't even Trek! How do you trek from a space station?!
