Default “Dexter” fans keep telling Michael C. Hall they hated the ending

http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2014/0...el-c-hall.html

"They'll ask me about the ending," he says of his fans, "and tell me why they found it troubling or unsatisfying, or on the other hand, they want to distinguish themselves by saying they liked the ending.

I, at first, thought that a series finale episode like that would lead to a film being made down the road. Was a "terrible" series finale the only way a show like Dexter would go out with? It was stated by one of the show's producers that Showtime wouldn't let them kill of the title character at the end, and that probably led to everyone whining about how "awful" the finale was.

If I had to close the series myself, how about having the title character thrown in jail for life, or maybe executed?

TV is a business, and in a business, you cannot please everybody all of the time.

Andy Cohen asked Hall last night on “Watch What Happens Live” about fans being “pissed" at the finale.

It should have ended in the 7th season finale. Instead of killing LaGuardia, Deb should have killed Dexter. I think that would have been a much better series finale despite Dexter getting killed off.

I agree. I didn't see the point of killing LaGuardia off because there was no payoff. Deb was depressed for a few episodes and that was that.
