Default Didn't Sasha Mitchell get arrested?

Didnt he get arrested for domestic violence on his wife which is why he was written out of the show and Jean-Luc came in?

I seem to remember that but is that true.

He did get arrested, but I don't know if that's why he was written off the show or not.

Here's a link to an article. http://articles.latimes.com/1995-06-...sasha-mitchell

From what I remember hearing it was a false charge. Disney didn't take any chances, though.

They interviewed Patrick Duffy on a TV show about this after Sasha Mitchell's arrest, and PD confirmed that they couldn't have an alleged wife beater back on the show.

In that same interview, he stated that he didn't like the producers' idea of adding another child ("Lilly") to the show.

Adding another child was fine but they shouldn't have aged her like they did. I also think the birth of Lily should've been saved for the season 5 finale and that should've also been the series finale.

Was a reason ever given on the show as to where Cody went/was?

Oh cool--I didn't know that. I missed quite a few of the last season episodes due to the fact it moved to CBS.

Yes. In what was supposed to be the season opener for that season, they mentioned that Cody was in Russia. No explanation why, I believe. However, that episode ended up getting moved to the end of the season (the episodes were aired out of sequence), so viewers were left wondering what had happened to Cody for almost a full season.

Later, near the end of the series' run, Sasha Mitchell returned for one guest episode. In that episode, he explained that he had been traveling across America in search of the perfect burger.

Lilly's addition as a speaking role on the show coincided with the producers' decision to axe Josh Byrne ("Brendan"). She was the "replacement cute kid". I hate it when shows do that.

Yeah, I said the same thing in the "Step by Step Boned the Fish When..." thread a few days ago.

I remember seeing Sasha on an episode of Entertainment Tonight and he was telling about what happened back then. He said that everything that he did was in defense of his kids because his wife got herself into drugs.

God bless you and him and his kids always!!!

Holly

P.S. According to what is said about him on his Wikipedia page, he has the kids and their mom can only see them if she is supervised.

Why the Actor Who Played Cody Lambert Was Fired From 'Step by Step'

He was the most popular character until he messed it all up.
