If the original Boy Meets World had its original run last seven seasons, then how many seasons does anyone here think Girl Meets world will run for? Considering Disney Channel's track record of ending their series' original runs after four seasons.

I would hope they give it more than 4 considering the potential, but it has yet to happen so far.

That's part of the reason I didn't want it to go to the Disney Channel.

Well, where did you want the GMW series to go?

Good question. ABCFamily is about the only place it would fit these days, but even they seem to be leaning in more "mature" areas.

I'm not really sure if there's a good place for it to air other than the Disney Channel, which, unfortunately, means it won't get more than 4 seasons.

Default How to watch the “Girl Meets World” premiere now

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_5366294.html

The “Boy Meets World” spinoff debuts on June 27, but you can watch it now if you have the right cable provider. PLUS: Here's the first review.

There are three main reasons I'm not so thrilled about it airing on Disney.

1. The show won't be able to tackle many relevant teen issues like sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.

2. The show will probably air for a maximum of four seasons. I think the show should last at least six seasons with the first season being about Riley in seventh grade and the final about her senior year of high school.l

3. Finally, (and this is a big one) there will most likely be NO season sets whatsoever, maybe a few 4-7 episode compilation single disc releases, but besides that - nada. Don't forget that Disney shows aren't exactly notable for re-running their shows for a long time afterwards, not even in off-network syndication.

So we should enjoy it while it's here.

I agree with every point you made, but I have to wonder if Disney might not try to approach this show a little differently since they well know there is a rather sizable older demographic interested in the show as well.

I definitely hope they bypass the four season limit with this, however. Especially if it's a hit. The first show was seven seasons and this should get the same chance without being hindered by some silly season limit that should have no bearing on a show like this.
