Question What if Columbia Pictures/Sony Television had its own broadcast network

Columbia/Sony is currently, the only one of the "Big 6" major American motion picture studios to not have any past (to the best of my knowledge) or present ownership of a television network. Lets look at its rivals:
*ABC is owned by Disney

*Fox is the TV network for 20th Century Fox

*NBC is the TV network for Universal Studios

*The CW is the successor of UPN (owned by Paramount) and The WB (owned by Warner Bros.)

Meanwhile, CBS (ironically enough, stands for the Columbia Broadcasting Systems) could be considered the de facto main Paramount network since it know owns Paramount's TV library (after spinning off into its own company from Viacom back in 2006).

CBS also owns its own stuff that it made in-house: stuff like Perry Mason, Hawaii Five-O, etc.

Sony plays the field. They own a number of popular game shows, sitcoms in syndication and talk shows. They have stock in all the major networks.

Seinfeld (syndication)
Jeopardy (ABC)
Wheel of Fortune (ABC)
Shark Tank (ABC)
The King of Queens (syndication)
The Queen Latifah Show (CBS, syndication)
The Dr. Oz. Show (Fox, syndication)

And they recently hit big with Breaking Bad, which is the talk of the town.

New shows are Community (NBC), The Black List (NBC), Justified (FX) and The Goldbergs (ABC)

Sony's going through some real fiscal problems, though, so setting up a network is the last thing on their mind.

Columbia/Sony Entertainment having their own broadcast network within the U.S., huh? I don't know. I heard there is a rule stating that a foreign company (such as Sony) is not allowed to own or acquire a U.S. Broadcast Network.

Community and Justified are in their 5th seasons, lol. (Unless you just meant "new" as in "present")

Sony has a pretty good library though. Community, Breaking Bad, Justified, Happy Endings...not too shabby.

"Wheel of Fortune" & "Jeopardy!" are syndicated. They don't just air on ABC. In my area I get "Wheel" on MyNetworkTV and "J!" comes on NBC.
