Default 10 Stupid 2013 TV Shows That Probably Made You Dumber

http://whatculture.com/tv/10-stupid-...e-dumber.php/2

Quote:
When the pilot of 2 Broke Girls aired in 2011, many viewers hoped that its crass nature, racist jokes and sexist comments would vanish as the series gained momentum and that it could soon rely on its plot for a stronger reception. However, two seasons later and with a third airing imminently it seems such remarks have only increased.

2 Broke Girls chronicles the lives of Max and Caroline in their get-rich-quick cupcake business idea. Despite their different upbringings, the girls somehow end up becoming friends and their cupcake venture begins but it’s not without its upheavals. Although the plot isn’t all bad, the jokes, laughter track and overt sexism are.

For instance, take Han, the Korean owner of the diner. Almost every one of Han’s lines is spoken in broken English followed by a laughter track as well as many a comment about him being Chinese. Maybe it would be funny on occasion, but every episode is a little too much, making it seem stupid and unfunny.

In 2013 the show seemed to go from bad to worse, with many complaints over the constant stream of sexual innuendo. Max, played by Kat Dennings, and her quips have been the attention of such complaints, which have deemed the show “too offensive for TV.”

So, if you fancy a show full of sex jokes, racist comments and so much innuendo that you’re searching for it even in the serious lines, then 2 Broke Girls is definitely the show for you, but you may just want to consider how much grey matter you’ll be losing per episode first…

It's the only sitcom I watch, I love the crude humor. After the show is over, I most likely go back to reading an article on the NY Times about whatever war or crises is going on. The show is a fun break from learning.

I never watched these shows. I'm surprised Dads didn't make the list.

The only 2 shows I watch(ed) from this list is "2 Broke Girls" and "Don't Trust the B----"-----which I miss very much.

"2 Broke Girls" is one of only 3 current sitcoms that I watch. The others being "The Neighbors" and "Kirstie". They're all good for "knee slap" moments that make you forget about your troubles for 30 minutes.

2 Broke Girls may be stupid, but it is one live-action series that would be a great alternative to animated shows like South Park and Family Guy.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

This show is hilarious but I am surprised at it's early time slot, you'd think they would air it later at night since the dialogue gets pretty raunchy at times.

Default 15 Most Overrated TV Shows Of The Decade (So Far)

http://whatculture.com/tv/15-most-ov...-so-far.php/11

Quote:
6. 2 Broke Girls

The Show: A New York-set sitcom following roommates, Max Black (Kat Dennings) and Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), as they attempt to save up cash working as waitresses so they can start their own cupcake company.

Why It’s Overrated: Though in fairness 2 Broke Girls has always elicited mixed reviews from critics, it still manages to pull in 7-10 million viewers per episode in its current fourth season. While it’s hard to argue with the chemistry between the lead actors, the show’s script is surprisingly coarse for a homogenized sitcom, relying heavily on an abundance of sexual innuendo and divergences into racial humor which feel wildly outdated.

Plus, given the ridiculous attention the series plays to Dennings’ breasts throughout, it’s hard not to feel like the show is cynically pandering to hormonal males the world over. Sadly, unlike a few of the sitcoms on this list, it’s not even blandly inoffensive: it’s actually pretty offensive quite a lot of the time.
