Looks like ratings have continue to go down each episode. From Variety: "After opening in September to a big 4.7 rating in adults 18-49, “SHIELD” has declined with its next six original episodes: 3.3, 2.9, 2.8, 2.7, 2.5 last week and now a 2.2. And last night, it wasn’t far ahead of NBC’s third-place “The Biggest Loser” (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall)." I really like the show but the 18-49 have too much to do somewhere else. It was suppose to be pickup in EU and Australia but I think it will be on hold until ABC decides if they will sign on for a season 2! |

"S.H.I.E.L.D." is the fall's biggest disappointment, transmitting "all the joy of an annual tax audit," says Maureen Ryan. "Why should viewers trust this show to transport them to interesting places?" she adds. "It has yet to appreciably deepen its characters beyond a trait or two. Ward remains cold and distrusting. May is remote and kicks ass. Coulson may not be what he seems. Fitz and Simmons are clumsy, socially awkward geniuses. Skye appears to exist on the show solely as an exposition-delivery system. Can you recall one villain? Can you remember which one is Fitz and which one is Simmons? Does it matter?" |

Now this show is turning to a beginning soap opera where as strange as it is; two of the ice type personalities are hooking up!
I kind of laughed! It a true sign that it taken the plot twist to new levels of bizarreness. This could drag it into a "blackhole" that this series cannot recover from. I just hope that even with the poor ratings; ABC will renew it for season 2. If not; the producers will have to shop it around maybe to USA Network and not the Sci-Fi channel which I wrote to this network that I would not watch it if they canceled Stargate SG-1. They wrote back saying they don't care if I watch. Nice touch! Look were the Sci-Fi rating has been now! LOL! |

I may say goodbye to this one. I had high hopes for it but now I have second thoughts.

Week of 26th of November rating for Shield went back up:
ABC Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2.6/8 9.69 I guess the mystery and kind of horror plot help the ratings. I don't care for it but if it help keep it on the air - go for it! |
