TV Suzanne Somers Wants "Three's Company" Spin-off w/ Jason Ritter

EXCLUSIVE: Suzanne Somers Wants To Return to Television
10/30/13

In the debut issue of Closer, Suzanne Somers opens up in an exclusive interview about the challenges and successes she’s faced since starring in "Three’s Company" – and even shares her dream for a return to TV!

I said to my husband the other day, ‘You know what would make a great sitcom? If Chrissy Snow’s son was Jason Ritter!’" Suzanne reveals to Closer. “It would mean that ultimately, Jack and Chrissy got married and they had Jason. It is the first acting idea I’ve had that has made my heart flutter.

Though she admits she has never met Jason, she can see he carries his late father’s talent. “When I’ve seen him acting, he’s got his father’s timing. And he’s darling," Suzanne says. “I think I’m going to throw that out there to him. Who knows?

After surviving breast cancer, a return to TV is just a mere thought for the 67-year-old actress, who believes everything gets better with time and the right people in your life.

I’ve lived long enough to know that,” Suzanne says.

And one person who helped her get better though the years — her husband of nearly 36 years, Alan Hamel. With the recent revelation that her and Alan have sex twice a day, she explains to Closer, “We go to bed early, at 9, and Alan wakes up about 4 a.m. and wants to get intimate. Then I go back to sleep and when I wake up at 9, I’m in the mood, so we have sex again. Then we have coffee and go about our day!

Suzanne and Alan wed in 1977 and haven’t looked back. “We’re probably in the best phase of our relationship now, at this stage of life,” she says. “We give each other a lot of attention.

Sorry Suzanne but it wouldn't work. I don't like the idea of Jack with Chrissy any better than Jack with Janet. Jason's a good actor but he's not John and I don't think he could do the physical comedy his dad did. If they want to do something then have the surviving cast and Jason appear in a retrospective of the show. That I would like to see,

Wow- interesting. But in the show's continuity, Jack was involved with Vicki by the end of the show and into "Three's A Crowd". A little off-topic here, I guess- but does anyone know if they ever actually got married on the show?

They would have if the show was renewed. I read an article about it at the time. As it was, the show got canceled before that happened.

Default Jason Ritter: No, I won't star in a "Three's Company" spinoff

Suzanne Somers proposed the idea, with Jason Ritter playing the son of Jack Tripper and Chrissy Snow.

Interesting read. If it is made they should just continue with the roommates Janet, Chrissy, and Teri.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jason Ritter & Suzanne Somers working on an acting project together. Seems like Jason has nothing against Suzanne.

I love Jason, but I think I would find it creepy and I would think of John all the time. I miss John Ritter. It would make me sad, and I'm glad Jason's vetoed it. Anyway he's got a movie coming out himself which looks great. I guess he's busy with his own things.
