CNN is eyeing ex-"Nightline" anchor Bill Weir, who recently left ABC for CNN, as the anchor of a comedic take on the news, according to Page Six, which also notes that CNN was interested in hiring Jon Oliver away from "The Daily Show."

"I know there's been a lot of talk about CNN looking for late-night programming, a late-night comedy show," Zucker told critics today. "That's really not a priority for us at this time. We have some other things I'd like to concentrate on first. "
