Crazy What in the world make topanga change from freaky wild to miss popularity in season 2

In the first season cory and the other classmates thought of her as strange because she was diff'rent and odd than her other peers in class and cory teased her the most than by season 2 cory's opinion of her changed when she returned back as a normal looking girl, does anyone have any idea why topango gave up that weird life like she did the first season ???

That kind of wackiness can only be maintained for a short time. Once producers realized the series was going to last beyond the first season they either needed to tone the character down or lose the character altogether (as they did with Minkus). So they chose to tone her down.

Just imagined if they brought back the little short nerd kid Minkus for the 2nd season he would most likely come back as the normal cool person that cory and shawn would want to be friends with.

Slow down on the threads, man.

Topanga grew out of it. She only really became popular around season 4, before that she was just a normal girl.

Agreed....on both points. LOL.

I loved Topanga's change in season two. I was relieved when she changed. I was watching ABC's Saturday Morning Preview and the BMW cast was hosting. It was the first that we got to see Topanga/Danielle with the new do. Cory/Ben said he liked it and said that she should get the producers to let her wear her hair like that on the show. LOL.

As a character, I liked Topanga more from season 2 forward but I did like her hair in season 1 more. I loved that crinkle cut french fry look---it really stood out and you knew this girl was going to be special.

I used to HATE when they aired the Saturday morning previews. I would get so upset that I wasn't going to be able to see my favorite shows.

No. However, Cory and Shawn took noticed and commented on how different it looked in the season opener. I did like the crimped hairstyle. It wasn't weird to me, it was Topanga who was weird, hairstyle or not.

TLC38: I can't believe you said you hated the previews. Noooo.... LOL.

I'm guessing that they were concerned that Season 1 Topanga was a borderline caricature of what people think hippies act like. I'm sure that the producers didn't want BMW to be like the TGIF sitcoms that the Miller-Boyett factory was producing (e.g. Steve Urkel being an overly cartoonish interpretation of a nerd and Cody from Step by Step being an overly cartoonish "surfer dude").

The way that she acted may have changed, but her being beautiful of course never did, and maybe the way that she was is what made Cory fall for her, the fact that she did what made sense to her no matter what other people thought.

God bless you always!!!

She came back from summer camp, and Shawn asked her out in the first episode of Season 2, snubbing corey, but ultimately Shawn backed out.
