Never. I think the loss of Chrissy and the Ropers actually kept the show fresh. It started to wear down a little in season 8 but not enough to JTS. Maybe the last show could have been done better...more about the cast and less about TAC.

I think this is a rare example of a show that could have had an obvious 'bone' moment with Chrissy leaving, but managed to bounce back with good substitute characters. I liked the show in the early years the best, but honestly, it was still funny to the end (though I agree, Sonny, the last year seemed to see a dip in quality but it was trying to wrap things up by that point, too).

Never jumped. The show actually got better for the most part when the Ropers left because although they were better characters than the one who replaced them, John Ritter was allowed to show off his physical comedy skills a lot more after they left for some reason and that was a good thing.

Does anybody else agree w/ the argument that Three's Company actually got a "second wind" so to speak when Priscilla Barnes (Terri) came on board? Otherwise, Three's Company (w/ the cute but otherwise very "green" Jenilee Harrison as Cindy Snow) probably wouldn't have lasted three more years.

TMC--I agree with you. Jennilee Harrison was okay but her lack of experience showed. Priscilla Barnes entering really seemed to signal a different era.
However, while the last 3-4 seasons had really funny moments, there is just something about the original trio that can't be beat (for me). They felt more like "family," if that makes sense. I don't think quality necessarily JTS after Harrison and Barnes came on board, but that certain undefinable *something* was gone. |

TC did jump not long after Jack opened his restaurant in Season 7.
TC then started repeating episodes and the misunderstanding episodes didn't work anymore in 1982. TC was a top 10 show for most of its run but the ratings dropped big time for their final season. |

Despite some changes here and there, I thought the quality of the show was pretty consistent through its whole run. Plus, I actually prefer Terri to Chrissy (and Cindy), and Mr. Furley to the Ropers, so there's that.

The more interesting and intelligent Terri was a MUCH better fit for the blonde roommate. Not only did TC never bone but they should've somehow given us a 9th season! |

Yeah, I actually prefer the later seasons too, which is not something you can say for a lot of shows.

Not only with the elimination of Chrissy and addition of Terri but they left the apartment more and had more scenes outside the apartment to give us more chances at seeing different surroundings.

How can you say, Boned from Day 1? That doesn't even make sense.
