Default TMC's numerous "BONED" threads

A "boner" is an erection, no? I'm getting sick of seeing TMC'dumb "BONED" threads.

They are just really JTS threads. I'm sure he's just trying to put them with each board. It doesn't bother me any.

Remember, like the commercials say, if it lasts for more than 4 hours, see your doctor.

If I'm having one that long, I hope I'm in bed with Catherine Zeta-Jones...!

To avoid long-term injury, seek immediate medical help if you're still having these thoughts after 4 hours.

These "boned" threads/pages are actually from a website titled "Bonethefish.com" it specifically explores when certain TV shows have passed their prime.

Okay, but when I see "BONED", I don't think of "jumped the shark", I think of "BONED" as in climax. TMC's 'BONED" threads are disturbing. Why not just say "jumped the shark"?

There used to be a site named "Jumptheshark.com", but it now redirects to "TVguide.com".

I hate the bone phrases as well. (But then again, I also hate the "jump the shark" phrase.) You can indirectly blame TV Guide for the phrase. The Urban Dictionary actually has a good description on how "Bone the Fish" came to be:

"A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak and goes downhill. This term was coined as a dig on TV Guide when they bought the old jump the shark website, and destroyed it in February of 2009 so fans could no longer vote on shows that "Jumped the Shark". Jump the Shark Fans now refer to this corporate sell out in regards to that website "boning the fish" as well as replacing the old term "Jump the Shark" after a new website was created to celebrate the fans carrying the old JTS banner as "Bone the Fish" at www.bonethefish.com"

Yeah from my understanding, TV Guide bought Jumptheshark.com and now has it on their website. The original Jump the Shark guy then created Bone the Fish. So it's the same thing just with a different phrase and I don't understand the new phrase. I may not like the term "Jump the Shark" but at least I get the reference.

Okay, here's the reasons or origins behind the term "boned the fish" (and yes, the website is basically a substitute for the jump the shark website that TV Guide ruined):
Quote:
http://www.bonethefish.com/aboutus.php

The term "Bone the Fish" was created in direct reference to TV Guide parent Gemstar. Sometime in 2006, Jon Hein decided to sell the website known as "Jump the Shark" or "JumptheShark.com". Hein sold his company, Jump The Shark, Inc., to Gemstar (owners of TV Guide) on June 20, 2006 for "over $1 million". After Jon Hein sold it he went to work with Howard Stern. Some Howard Stern staff have speculated that the site sold closer to $5-$10 million, however. We like to say that was the point in time when the website Jump the Shark "Boned the Fish".

Around January/February 2009, Gemstar decided to redesign the website. With this new redesign they decided to scrap all the old content and make JTS a redirect to their gossip blog site. Some argue that this is the point in time when the website "Boned the Fish".

It was a complete slap in the face to the jumptheshark.com community. The icing on the cake was Gemstar had the audacity to redirect the old JTS site to a subdirectory of TVGuide.com, basically they bought page views looking for Jumptheshark.com. To show how clueless they are, they went about titling some of their blog columns "shark bites" and "dancing with the sharks" to get more readers.
