TV The Griffins To Visit The Simpsons in "Family Guy"/"The Simpsons" Crossover Episode!

Scoop: "Family Guy" Crossover Will Introduce the Griffins to "The Simpsons" in Fall 2014!
by Andy Patrick
July 18, 2013

Cowabunga, dude!

We thought we we’d never live to see the day that "Family Guy’s" Griffin family met Bart’s bunch from "The Simpsons", but that day is rapidly approaching. TVLine has learned that in a fall 2014 episode of "Family Guy", Peter & Co. pay a visit to Springfield, where they’ll be befriended by Homer & Co.

It doesn’t matter in the least to Homer that Peter is (in his jaundiced eyes) albino — in no time, the plus-sized pals are drinking brews and debating whether Duff or Pawtucket is the better beer.

Meanwhile, Stewie is charmed by Bart’s old-school mischief; Lisa makes it her mission to find Meg’s talent (good luck with that!); and Marge and Lois become bosom buddies.

Meg has talent. She can cook, swim, sing, do bird calls and saved Peters' life. The writers must have refused to bring those back or forgot about them.

In other words, it’s your typical “Family Guy” episode.

They should have concentrated on an American Dad/Family Guy crossover. They did briefly but they should have worked more on it.

Last nights episode was the best ever, great crossover. Both families had an equal amount of screen time. Hope they do it again.

http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/09/28/si...guy-crossover/

"Was 'The Simpsons Guy' just a craven marketing thing?” wonders Darren Franich. "One of the weirdest things about the episode was how all the rampant self-deprecation felt unnecessary. Make no mistake, this was 'Family Guy' worshipping The Simpsons: a feast of fan service, even if it was mostly fan service for people whose major Simpsons touchstones happened almost 20 years ago.” PLUS: Here's everything that the crossover mocked, including crossovers.

I thought it was a good episode overall - I stopped watching Family Guy a couple years ago because it was just getting too stupid and boring, but this one was worth checking out and it paid off for me.

I dont watch FG but could start based on the crossover episode. It seemed that they concentrated more on the Simpsons than Family Guy. I thought it was a very funny episode all though the line where Stewie called Moe's and said your sister was being raped was uncalled for. Also, the fight scene went way too long. Almost made me dislike the episode.

I'm a longtime Simpsons fan, but I am not a Family Guy fan whatsoever. However, I adjusted my attitude for watching this episode, knowing what to expect from their way of doing things so I could get some enjoyment out of this episode.

I was disappointed. I expected something edgier, especially since this episode was being done by the Family Guy producers and writers. This episode was pretty tame, for the most part.

It seemed to be like the FG writers were holding back and easing up on The Simpsons characters. I fully expected them to royally skewer Homer & co and the show fell flat in that regard.

Thumbs up

I loved the episode...I thought it was funny that Stewie was more twisted than Bart ever would be. Even on my "Top-16 Cartoon B*****ds", Bart and Stewie are on the list, Bart is #16, Stewie is #2.
