Elisabeth Hasselbeck Steps Down from Fox News
Elisabeth Hasselbeck Exits "The View" to Join Fox News
Jul 9, 2013 by Natalie Abrams Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving "The View" for Fox News, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Hasselbeck, who joined "The View" in 2002 as a replacement for Lisa Ling, will exit the ABC daytime series and join "FOX & Friends" as a co-host, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A rep for the ABC daytime show says Wednesday will be her last day. "Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View," FOX News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise." The news comes less than four months after Barbara Walters knocked down reports that Hasselbeck would not be returning after this season. But on Tuesday, Walters joined in on the announcement of her colleague's departure. "When Elisabeth survived Survivor we wanted to make sure she would stay afloat," she said in a statement. "We have had ten wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good." ABC also released a statement: "For a decade, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to The View. We watched her journey from newlywed to motherhood, an Emmy Award-winning talk show host, author, entrepreneur and activist. She stood behind her political views even if they were not the most popular opinions at the table never shying away from voicing a difficult question. We thank Elisabeth and wish her luck as she begins this new chapter of her career." Over the years, the former "Survivor" contestant made a name for herself for her outspoken nature and conservative views, which clashed with guests as well as her colleagues. Hasselbeck sparred with Rosie O'Donnell multiple times throughout O'Donnell's year-long tenure, most notably about the war in Iraq. She won a Daytime Emmy, along with the rest of the ladies of "The View", for best talk show hosts in 2009. The news follows reports that Jenny McCarthy is in talks to replace Joy Behar when the comedian leaves "The View" in August. Brooke Shields is also allegedly in talks to replace Hasselbeck, while the show will need to search for another new face next year when Barbara Walters retires in May. The show's other two hosts, Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg, are expected to return. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Elisabet...s-1067638.aspx |

As much as I like Brooke Shields, I don't know what to think of her joining The View because I'm afraid she'll get chewed out by the other ladies easily. Also, for the record, whenever I watch any talk show now, it's almost always for the celebrity guests.

I cannot stand Elizabeth Hasselback so I'm very happy to hear about this. She completely gets on my nerves. I don't like Fox News either so I won't have to see her anymore. I'm not a fan of The View to be honest but it seems that it's the only show that Harry Connick Jr and David Hyde Pierce make regular appearances. Believe me, that's the only way I'll watch that show!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Says Farewell on her Final Day Co-Hosting "The View"
Jul 10, 2013 by Robyn Ross Elisabeth Hasselbeck has officially said her farewell to "The View". On Wednesday morning, Hasselbeck — who walked on stage arm-and-arm with Barbara Walters — confirmed it was her final day on the ABC daytime program and that she'd be joining the couch on "Fox and Friends" in September. After saying individual thank yous to the production crew, including executive producer Bill Geddie, and her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd, who was not in attendance, Hasselbeck shared her gratitude to Walters. "Barbara, I did the math last night and I think I've had over 3,000 days working by your side, and I think it's fair to say that, over the course of a decade, I feel as though I've attended the Barbara Walters School of Broadcasting and Journalism," she began. "Truly, because of all you have taught me, I was prepared to interview political candidates, I was prepared to interview President Barack Obama for the fourth time. I feel more than prepared, at this point, because of all you've given me to move forward. I can't ask for a better leader and a mentor." Hasselbeck then thanked the audience. "I want to leave you with this: Thank you for everyone out there who has been watching. I wasn't the first person to sit in this chair. I certainly won't be the last person to sit in this chair. The past 10 years have been nothing short of extraordinary, and I wholeheartedly wish the next person or co-host that sits here an extraordinary set of years of their own to come." Walters, who said the show would not be filling Hasselbeck's seat anytime soon, also offered her well wishes. "We did feel that you always brought a fresh voice to the show," she said. "You stood by your opinions even when things were very heated, which is not an easy thing to do, and you've been such a big part of this show's success." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Elisabet...w-1067656.aspx |

I will say that Elisabeth is very attractive, so I'll miss that
Good for her that she's moving on whether you agree with her political views or not. Not to get political on this topic, but I think The View has gotten a little too political and maybe that's why there ratings are slipping. Sometimes, it does get a little cringe worthy when they argue and again it doesn't matter what side you agree with. |

Hasselbeck was a major draw because she brought tension to the show by disagreeing with her "View" co-hosts, says Richard Lawson. But there won't be that kind of tension on "Fox & Friends." As Lawson puts it, "Her talent, if you can call it that, is being the oppressed one, not part of the dopey morning affirmation to the choir. She's going to lose all her potency, again if you can call it that, when everyone around her agrees with her." PLUS: Hasselbeck was a "vital ingredient" on "The View" over the past decade, and the Winners & Losers from Hasselbeck's exit, including "loser" Barbara Walters. I do think that the reason Joy Behar's show was cancelled was because she was too political.
Remember a few years back she had a show on CNN. |

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is Leaving Fox News
by Liz Raftery Nov 23, 2015 Elisabeth Hasselbeck is stepping down as co-host of the Fox News morning show "Fox & Friends" in order to spend more time with her family, the network announced Monday. "Oftentimes, the most difficult decisions are between two great things," Hasselbeck said in a statement. "With a heart full of gratitude and the peace that God has given me, I am confident that this personal decision is the right one for our family, and we will be joining all of you watching Fox & Friends each morning as we get ready for school together." Fox News CEO Roger Ailes added: "Elisabeth and I discussed this at length over several weeks, and while I would love for her to continue here, I respect her incredibly difficult, yet deeply personal decision. She has been a great addition to the Fox & Friends franchise." Hasselbeck and her husband Tim have three children together. She will make her departure before the end of the year, and rotating guest hosts will fill in for her until a permanent replacement is hired, according to TheWrap. Hasselbeck joined "Fox & Friends" in 2013 after 10 years as a co-host on "The View". http://www.tvguide.com/news/elisabet...ving-fox-news/ |
