I don't really care. The Networks made their bed when they started targeting the 18-49 demo at the expense of everybody else. They can suffer as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really think less people are watching TV. They're just doing it in different ways, many of which are not measured by Nielson ratings.

TV is just a fad anyways, everyone should invest in the return of the Pet Rock.

I'm over 50 now, but the TV networks, especially cable, have made it to where with so many commercials and bad shows I just wait to see what catches on and watch on DVD or online when the season ends. I guess somebody needs to watch to choose what shows are hits, but with the flawed ratings system I'm not sure that is going to work much longer.
A large number of people want shows on demand now, it is just a matter of how they decide what shows get made. I'm not investing in a show just to see it canceled and I'm not arranging my schedule by the TV Guide like we used to do before VCR's. |

I'm 50 now and with the DVR I hardly watch live TV anymore. I got too use to fast forwarding through all the commercials. I agree with Stuck in the 70's, the networks made their beds now they can lie on them.

I'm just happy I'm still considered a younger viewer.
I very rarely watch new shows no matter what network it's on. The only current sitcom I have interest in is Holliston, and that is exclusively through FearNet. About the only 'dramatic' new shows I watch is The Walking Dead. And Hemlock, which is exclusively through Netflix. |

I to am a younger viewer and I honestly have stopped watching Cable. I just can't stand seeing shows cut to pieces and I also can't stand the commercials either. I mainly stick to watching Netflix and DVDs. At least then I know my shows are uncut.

If they want the viewers back, they need to focus on quality. We need awesome writers and awesome actors and actresses. People that are trained in their professions, not just wannabes. |
