Default 10 TV Revivals That Were Actually Successful

http://www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/10...lly-successful

Quote:
We live in the era of the remake and reboot, where Hollywood suits think nothing of taking a beloved TV show or movie, re-casting it entirely, and starting over from scratch.

What is much harder to pull off, however, is the revival: bringing back most or all the original cast after years — or decades — of being apart, plunking them down in the same basic creative universe, and hoping the superfans who seemed so adamant that they wanted it back will actually return in numbers big enough to keep the train chugging along. (This is the part of the story where Firefly fans sigh audibly at their screens.)

Despite how challenging revivals can be, recently they’ve become one of the hottest fads in Hollywood. Veronica Mars’ fans Kickstarted a feature film with the original cast. Fox is bringing back 24 as a limited series. And you might have heard that 15 brand new episodes of Arrested Development will premiere this Sunday on Netflix — with the hope of creating enough of a groundswell of support for a feature film? No? You’ve been under a rock, then?

These projects do have reason to hope for success — like a solar eclipse or a double rainbow, successful revivals do on rare occasion happen. Here are 10 of them.

I loved Star Trek. The best of the 6 films with the original cast was Wrath of Khan and The Voyage Home is a close second. The NG ones were great too. The reboot in 2009 and Into Darkness makes me hope for more Trek films in the future. I'm glad that Police Squad came back in The Naked Gun films. I loved that series but it worked better on the big screen. R.I.P. Leslie Neilsen. He will never be replaced. There was talk of a reboot but I'm glad it didn't happen.

The Voyage Home was my favorite (and also the funniest) followed by Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country. The Final Frontier SUCKED . Of the Next Generation Films, I liked First Contact best.

I am a Trekkie and have seen everything that this franchise has ever done.

I liked all the TOS films. The Motion Picture was a bit slow and the uniforms were horrid. They hit their stride with Wrath of Khan, and basically all the original cast's films. Yes, The fifth movie was not very good.

All the TNG movies to me were horrible, and I have only watched them once. Nemesis, their last film was absolutely horrid, bad, stupid, crap, garbage, waste of my time, energy and resources. I could go into it, but this video tells it better than I and agree with 99% of what he says. The 1% I do not agree with was that he alludes that Marina Sirtis is untalented and ugly. Talented, no. Hawt, yes, with occasional camel toe.
