Tom Shales isn't a fan of Kimmel's show, saying Kimmel "comes across like a guy who crashed a party and got caught at it, yet adamantly refuses to leave….In fact Kimmel's whole show is so haunted by ineptitude that on re-opening night, in a dark suit, the 'star' seemed to bleed right into the cheap-looking backdrop of Los Angeles at night and disappear."

Jimmy Kimmel is just as unsuitable for an 11:35 timeslot as Conan O'Brien was. They're both niche comedians whose niche is the young adult crowd that watches TV after midnight.

Not to mention, Jimmy Kimmel goin' up against Jay Leno and David Letterman is NOT such a HOT IDEA after all

It's no wonder why Kimmel is not gettin' good ratings and abc is right now, the Minor Leagues of Late Night Television
