Oh No Lindsay Lohan Arrested in NYC After Assaulting Woman in Nightclub

Lindsay Lohan Arrested after Allegedly Gitting Tiffany Eve Mitchell, 28, in the Face at Avenue Nightclub in Manhattan's Chelsea Neighborhood
by Eric Badia and Rocco Parascandola / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Thursday, November 29, 2012

Lindsay Lohan is in hot water again — she punched another woman in the face while in a Manhattan nightclub early Thursday, police sources said.

Lohan was questioned, along with witnesses, at the NYPD's 10th Precinct stationhouse and charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault for the 4 a.m dust-up inside Avenue, a Chelsea hot spot on 10th Ave.

A police source said it appears Lohan, 26, and the victim, Tiffany Eve Mitchell, 28, of West Palm Beach, Fla., were sitting in separate VIP sections when a scuffle involving other club-goers broke out.

Both Lohan and Mitchell got up, possibly to avoid getting involved. At that point, the source said, it appears Mitchell accidentally bumped into Lohan.

The two women exchanged words, then both sat down. But Lohan got back up, the source said, and slugged Mitchell.

The victim, police said, did not require medical attention. Mitchell does not face charges, a second source said.

Lohan was wearing handcuffs and chunky high heels when she was loaded into a squad car and taken to the stationhouse for questioning. Others were brought in, too.

Afterward, Mitchell, her husband, and another couple left the 10th Precinct stationhouse about 7:15 a.m. Thursday and took off in a yellow cab.

About 15 minutes later, Lohan waltzed out of the NYPD stationhouse with a coat covering her head. She was accompanied by a man and they left inside a black Escalade.

Lohan was issued a desk appearance ticket and is due in court Jan. 11.

The Thursday arrest was Lohan's latest brush with cops in New York City.

She was involved in a NYPD investigation in September after alleging a man had assaulted her in a New York hotel, but charges against the man were later dropped.

Also in September, the actress was accused of clipping a man with her car outside another Manhattan nightclub, but prosecutors chose not to move ahead with charges.

In October, police were called to her childhood home on Long Island after a report of fight between her and her mother. An investigation revealed "no criminality."

The actress was also involved in a car accident in California this summer that sent her and an assistant to a hospital, but didn't result in serious injuries for anyone. The accident remains under investigation.

In May, she was cleared of allegations that she struck a Hollywood nightclub manager with her car.

Lohan remains on informal probation for taking a necklace from a jewelry store without permission last year. That means she doesn't have to check in with a judge or probation officer but could face a jail term if arrested again.

She really needs help. I feel sorry for her. I hope she gets help. She really does have talent.

Must be nice to live the life of little to no responsibility. Sitting up until the wee hours of morning getting drunk, partying and fighting without sustainable consequence. What's tragic is that these kind of people are admired and rewarded with great wealth for absolutely nothing. It's too bad we don't glorify more positive role models in our society.

Oh No

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - I will be shocked if Lindsay lives to see her 30th birthday. She has enough dough to hire a driver - just the thought of her behind the wheel of a car makes me shudder.

And they got her to play Liz Taylor. I am sure Liz would have been insulted. Lindsay Lohan needs to be Blacklisted in Hollywood, then thrown in Jail and left there to cool off for a year or so.

The hatred towards this woman always stuns me.

Yes, she's totally screwed up. No, she's not a role model (and never professed to be one, if I'm not mistaken). And she has gotten away with a lot of things that most people would not.

But it's so easy to just look at the end result and say "Yeah, I told you so." and then somehow feel superior or better about yourself in the process. Put yourself in her position. You're a child star with two completely screwed up parents who give you no positive example and PLENTY of negative examples on how to live your life. You are fed publicity, wealth, adulation and fame. You're told daily how beautiful and talented you are. You have access to legal and illegal substances from a very young age, and no one ever tells you how to put the breaks on, or even that you ever should.

Now tell me that you would emerge from all that dysfunction a sane, rational, mature and responsible adult. I know I sure as hell wouldn't, and that's why I try to put these pathetic wretches and their lives into perspective.

A little less hate and a lot more perspective and maybe we'll be a bit closer to understanding how this type of thing happens.

She's a mess, and on the road to major crash and burn.

She needs HELP (a real good psychotherapist for starter's) and perhaps 1 or 2 (or 3) Twelve Step programs.

I don't have a huge amount of slack for her; other famous people have come from hard backgrounds and don't behave like this. She's an adult(chronologically) and needs to begin acting like one.

This bring said, I certainly don't hate her - just see her as pathetic.

^ Rich, I couldn't have said it better. Child actor advocates like Paul Petersen have repeatedly tried to reach out to her and get her REAL help, but as the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water...

The question is, do any of these current troubled child stars even know who Paul Petersen is? I'm sure if you walked up to one of them, and mentioned his name, they would be like, "Who the f**K is that?".

Even TMZ had no idea who he was. I remember when they did an article on the Octomom, and they mentioned Petersen in passing, they referred to him as "Some random guy".

I get where you're coming from. He is head of A Minor Consideration, which advocates for current AND former child actors, so he has to have some contacts to be able to try to reach out to some of them. Here's the website, if you're interested in checking it out:

Monika, I know who Paul Petersen is. I was just saying I don't think any of those troubled former child stars would know who he is, nor would they care.

I was on some site a while back, and someone, who hates Hollywood with a flaming passion, claimed that the main reason so many former child stars self-destruct is because they were the victims of child abuse.

Therefore, I wonder if the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes may have been molested? Petersen himself claims he was molested, hence the reason he tried to kill himself.

It's possible. I know that Jay North (Dennis the Menace, who is also very active with A Minor Consideration) has said that his aunt, who was his on-set guardian, was PHYSICALLY abusive to him but never made any marks that would show.

Also, I think I read somewhere that Paul Petersen was so distraught over his wife (Brenda Benet) leaving him for another man (Bill Bixby) that he contemplated suicide. But I could be wrong. Years later, ironically, Brenda Benet would take her own life in 1982 just after the first anniversary of the sudden, unexpected death of the young son that she shared with Bill Bixby (they were divorced by that time).
