Question Cheesiest 1990s Sitcom

For me, its a toss up between Saved by the Bell and Full House. This is not of course saying that these shows weren't entertaining per se, it's just looking back, both of these shows have not aged well.

I think for SBTB you can sum it up it being officially, a '90s show (even though in fairness, it debuted in mid-late '89) always felt like it was several years behind style-wise. I an enjoy SBTB for its (sometimes unintentional, like whenever they tried to be "serious" like the episode involving Jesse taking diet pills) camp value and not so "grounded" depiction of high school life.

With Full House, it's easy to make fun off and look down upon because of it's frequent schmaltzy, "taste like diabetes" nature and pedestrian, predictable form of comedy.

You're absolutely right! It's funny, just the other night my roommates and I had another big discussion about how incredibly cheesy the '90s were. We just threw a party dedicated to the decade last Summer!

The '90s were over-the-top cheesy, but that's what made those years so special. It was a great time to be a TV fan.

Full House and Saved By The Bell are the definition of "cheesy" sitcoms, and they never pretended to be anything else. They may not have aged well to some, but it says something that both shows still air 2-4 times daily in 2012, twenty years after they've ended. Many people must still be eating that cheese up, lol.

I;m not going to be foolish and say the entire decade had cheesy shows because of the shows below

Married With Children
Family Matters
Martin
Living Single
Fresh Prince

I do think there were cheesy shows on every single year of the decade (as well as the decades before it). But there were also some very fine, smart series during the '90s.

Family Matters was EXTREMELY cheesy, IMO. It was corny, like all the other Milller-Boyett sitcoms at the time. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air wasn't too far behind.

Hell yes to Martin. The reruns still air and I happened to catch one a few nights ago. Sheneneh alone was a big block of cheese.

If animated shows are allowed, definitely Beavis and Butthead, although the scenes where they make fun of music videos can still be laugh out loud funny.

I watched every episode of Martin Live on Fox during highschool and college and have no interest in seeing it on DVD or syndication lol
