NBC blames viewer fatigue for ignoring the Paralympics

The Peacock barely showed any coverage of the Paralympics, and only showed it on the NBC Sports Network.

Well, I'm sure viewer interest was quite low and that's all they care about.

I actually saw part of a USA/Canada wheelchair rugby game and it was one of the strangest things I've seen!

It's politically incorrect to refer to anything about the handicapped as "strange." This is not that kind of board. Read the various posts and you will see there are no outcasts regardless of race, creed, sexual preference or anything else. I defy anyone to list a group that isn't welcome to post on this family friendly, socially conscious board.

Anything can be strange to watch handicap or not. On the non paralympics (I didn't want to say the regular one), I thought water polo was strange. Same with curling at the Winter Olympics. Strange doesn't have to mean a bad thing, it's just not something we are use to and I am sure that is all that Big3sCompanyFan was getting at.

I just meant I couldn't tell what sport it was until they said what it was. In school we played this game called Speedball which was a combo of soccer and handball so that's what it looked like at first.

I thought it could've been basketball since they played it on a basetball court but they said rugby!

Wow. See how very, very easy it is to mis-interpet someones comments and/or posts. As embarrassed as I am to having done that (my apologies, Big3), I am glad to be able to point out that yes, words can be twisted and mis-understood from their original meaning on message boards. I can certainly recall many times when MINE were.

I just saw on this report from last September that NBC, along with NBCSN, will air the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games starting on 7 March with the Opening Ceremony, and ending on 16 March, with the Closing Ceremony. NBCSN will broadcast 46.5 hours of competition from Sochi while NBC will air an additional 3.5 hours of coverage.

NBC and NBCSN will also broadcast the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Summer Games.
